Moderate and liberal Christians: your turn?
Via Philocretes, a link to a letter to the editor in today's Boston Globe.
I confess I'm not all that comfortable "talking religion" to anyone. On the other hand, as I once said of a couple of atheist friends of mine, I'd much rather have friends like them -- who professed disbelief in Jesus's divinity, but acted otherwise -- than friends who wore their religiosity on their faces and lips (well beyond their sleeves).
Whether or not we're comfortable talking religion, though, I'm afraid we need to get used to hearing about it... and yes, talking about it when the occasion arises. I think our friends on the other side of the aisle would be quite surprised to learn how many of us harbor (and act on) faith, whether we show it or not.
